Reference Sires

The Dunlop Park herd has been bred to retain the features of the Australian cow herd that has been the strong foundation for the success of the Angus breed today.
We have some semen available from Dunlop Park Zambia, see below.

Sires of this year’s (2021) Sale Bulls

Glanworth Waigroup 1213
This bull from the well known Waigroup breeding program in New Zealand has been used widely there and in the United States where many breeders have been looking for the grass fed performance this bull offers. His progeny rank in the high percentiles for birth weight and calving ease and really display that classic Angus type.
Dunlop Park Kelvin K18
Kelvin has bred with consistency, his progeny have low birthweight sand high calving ease and his daughters are magnificent Angus females.
William of Stern
An outstanding son of Braveheart of Stern this New Zealand bull has the genetics needed for a profitable grass fed operation. His sons have good growth and muscling.
Turihaua Crump E5
We have used this bull previously and chose to use him again as he breeds sons with the Angus type and excellent structure that the Turihaua (New Zealand) cattle are renowned for.
Dunlop Park Hamish H72
Hamish has made an enormous contribution to our herd; his progeny have outstanding growth consistent type and excellent temperaments. This will be the last year that his progeny will be available.
Sarum Kilwatt K14
Sarum Angus stud, near Toowomba Queensland, is one of very few herds in Australia with no North American genetics We visited Sarum in 2016 and saw his bull, who stood out for his type and softness, and were able to secure some semen from him. It has proved well worth it as his progeny (both male and female) had some of the best carcase data in this years scanning.
Matauri Stockman
We had a small amount of Stockman semen left in storage, after using him about 15 years ago. We sold the last of his daughters, a lovely big cow, only 2 year ago and because of her longevity and ability to produce good calves, we decided to try and breed some more. This was successful with 3 daughters added to the herd. We also bred a son who is in the sale and this is probably the last opportunity anywhere in Australia to purchase a son of Stockman.
